The certificate is designed to prepare a Registered Nurse to work in a primary care or an ambulatory care setting. It is also designed as a continuing professional development course for a Registered Nurse currently working in primary care. According to the Centers for Disease Control, “The National Illness Prevention Strategy is a plan that helps increase the number of Americans who are healthy at every stage of life.”
The Primary Care RN Certificate is offered by UNC-Chapel Hill’s nationally ranked School of Nursing, Digital and Lifelong Learning, and the North Carolina AHEC (Area Health Education Centers).
